What are some activities LULAC, as a high school club, can do?

most of our local councils are high school sponsor clubs & members are students from 8th-12th grade.
All the activities you see in this blog are activities you can do.
From local community services, seminars in different parts of the country, to national conventions. This year our convention will be held in Disney World.

I am the editor for the spanish section in my school newspaper and I struggle a lot to get the large latino/hispanic population within my school to become aware of their culture and news that applies to them. So I stumbled upon this organization and it really sparked my interest and I was hoping if you'd get back to me and maybe let me know how I can get my peers to understand the importance of being involved in the community and social affairs overall. Youthful LULACers:

As we approach Convention in Orlando, dont forget to get your stuff ready.
follow this link to get the packet for the convention filled out and mailed to the address stated on the form.

I’d like to hear from all of you who went to convention last year on any feedback/ things you loved/ etc… It will help tremendously.

Things To Expect on this convention:
Dorm Experience at the university (still tentative)
Downtown Disney
Wonderful Resort : Coronado Springs (see link below)
An awesome Exposition with tons of free goodies ;)
Epcot
Banquet at Universal Studios (followed by park rides)

anddd.. ELECTIONS!

“For many years the grounds of Castillo San Felipe del Morro has been a site for enjoying picnics, flying kites, recreation as well as people enjoying the park with their pets.We want this event to continue fostering such use and emphasize that pets are welcome with their families to enjoy this area of the fortification and at the same time they can help us in keeping this special place clean and safe for all visitors of the fortifications of San Juan National Historic Site ”, said San Juan National Historic Site Superintendent, Walter J. With the U.S. presidential campaign already off to a roaring start, news from the Republican primary contests has been a major topic across Tumblr. As we near another crescendo in Florida, we were curious how the campaign—from the numerous debates and rallies, to election ads and gaffes—has played out so far in terms of the type and quantity of attention received by each candidate on Tumblr.

The first graph shows how frequently each candidate’s name appeared in posts. The second shows other tags most frequently associated with each candidate. We’re most impressed with the viral power of one creative concept blog: When Rick Perry’s Unpopular Opinions sprang up as a parody of one of Perry’s campaign videos, he easily became the most blogged candidate overnight.

A new study from researchers at the University of California at Los Angeles found that passage of the DREAM Act and inclusion of students in U.S. educational and professional institutions could generate between $1.4 and $3.6 trillion (current) dollars in the next 40 years, based on the amount of income these people could generate as professionals.
